Tarrytown Recreation Events / Fall and Winter 2008

Sat. October 11th – Scarecrow making 10:30 am – 1:00 pm at Patriot’s Park. With help from the community we will be creating scarecrows to decorate the village.  Bring some old clothes and plenty of enthusiasm.


Wed. October 15th - Halloween window painting held in conjunction with the Tarrytown / S.H. Arts Council.  With the support of local merchants, downtown Tarrytown (route 9) will be decorated. The event is held from 3:30pm. – 5:30pm. Paint supplies and canvas’s provided.


Fri. October 17th – Third Friday, 5pm – 9pm, is brought to you by the merchants of Tarrytown & the Village of Tarrytown, as well as many other generous sponsors.  Located on Main Street and Broadway, a Halloween theme will be highlighted throughout the evening.  Music and Halloween activities will be in the offering.


Sat. October 18th – Pumpkin Hunt at Patriot’s Park 1:30pm. Hunt for the great pumpkin, prizes and fun for all ages.


Sat. October 18th – Rag-a-Muffin Parade, assembly at Patriot’s Park 1:45p.m.  Sidewalk parade steps off at 2:00pm and proceeds to the Main Street Firehouse for candy and musical entertainment.


Sat. October 25th – The village wide Halloween Parade will assemble at Patriot’s Park at 4:30p.m.  The parade steps off at 5:30pm and proceeds down route 9 to Main Street and ends at the Y.M.C.A.  Floats are welcomed as well as walkers.  Musical entertainment will be held after the parade on Main Street (Block Party).


Sun. November 9th – Annual “Pilgrim Run”, the four mile road race will be held at the Hackley School, beginning at 12:00 noon.  All runners should be registered by 11:00am on the morning of the race.  A turkey will be awarded to the male and female winner of each age group, refreshments also provided.


Sat. December 6th – The 9th annual holiday “Tree Lighting” will be held at Patriot’s Park at 5:00pm.  A visit from Santa with pictures and refreshments offered.
