Statement regarding bomb threat at Jewish Community Center
Mayor Drew Fixell and the Tarrytown Board of Trustees condemn the hateful, anti-Semitic acts perpetrated on our local Jewish Community Center (JCC) yesterday. As has been widely reported, a bomb threat was made against the Center and everyone was evacuated safely. After Tarrytown and Westchester County police responded and determined it was a false threat, all were let back into the building. While we are grateful for everyone’s safety, we emphatically assert that there is absolutely no tolerance for racism, anti-religious behavior, any senseless act of violence or denial of civil rights in our community. We stand in solidarity with our friends at the JCC.
