Daily Parking by Train Station

DAILY PARKING BY TRAIN STATION

Commencing on June 1, 2015, the multi-space parking meters that have been installed in the parking areas around the Metro North Railroad Station will be activated.  The concept of the multi-space parking meters is to allow for daily parking in these parking lots at specified times that will be noted on signs to be erected in the parking lots.  The installation of the multi-space parking meters will eliminate the need for the Village to contract with an outside firm to manage parking during home Yankee games, but also enables the Village to control the use of the parking lots throughout the year.  The installation of the multi-space parking meters will have no impact upon people who purchase resident parking permits and non-resident commuter parking permits.  If you have purchased a parking permit, you may park in any of the parking lots that service the MNRR station and there is no requirement to pay the meters.  For people who do not purchase parking permits, there are new regulations concerning the use of the parking lots.  The regulations are noted below:

  • Parking along Losee Park fence line on Green Street and the Losee Park parking lot (south of Losee Park) – available for resident and non-resident daily parking using the multi-space parking meter machines.  These parking areas are also available for resident daily parking with daily parking permit purchased at the Police Department.  Non-residents must use the multi-space parking meter machines.
  • Residents who purchase a daily parking permit at the Police Department may park in the three larger parking lots on the west side of the railroad tracks.  Daily parking for non-residents is allowed in these parking spaces after 2:00 p.m.
  • Daily parking is only permitted in the parking lot on the north side of the Village Hall after 2:00 p.m.  A daily parking permit purchased at the Police Department is not valid in this parking lot before 2:00 p.m.
  • Residents may obtain a Tarrytown Recreation Permit, which allows for parking in the parking areas noted above, during specified periods without putting money in the multi-space parking meter machines.  The permit allows residents to parking along the Losee Park fence line on Green Street and the Losee Park parking lot for 3 hours between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and for unlimited time after 2:00 p.m.  In all other parking lots, the permit is valid after 2:00 p.m. with no time limitation.  There is no cost to obtain the Tarrytown Recreation Permit.  Applications are available on line at www.tarrytowngov.com.  Go to Village Parking and then to the link for Parking Permit Applications.
