This week, Tarrytown is hosting the 150th annual convention for the Firefighters Association for the State of New York which will culminate in a dress parade on Saturday, August 13 from 3 to 5pm. The parade will include 45 fire departments from across the state, antique fire vehicles, as well as local and statewide dignitaries. Please come out to celebrate our fire department and their colleagues. More information can be found here, here, and here.
If you are not planning to attend the parade, please make arrangements to avoid having to travel on Rt.9/Broadway and through our downtown on Saturday afternoon.
Rt.9 from 303 Broadway to Main Street will be closed to vehicular traffic between 2:30 and 5:30pm.
Main Street to the waterfront, the H-Bridge, and Green Street will also be closed to vehicular traffic from 2:30pm to 5:30pm.
There will be no parking on Main Street and on Broadway between Main and Benedict between 12pm and 6pm.
There will be no parking in Lots C, F and G (on the west side of the train station) for the entirety of Saturday, August 13.
If you ARE planning to attend the parade, please try to take public transportation or walk to the parade site. If you need to drive, please park and find your spot well in advance.
