Tarrytown Opens Organics Yard To Village Residents

Residents May Drop Off Yard Waste

Tarrytown, NY— EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY — In an effort to maintain adequate services during Public Works staffing reductions due to the New York State Executive Order 202.4 for the COVID-19 emergency, the Village of Tarrytown will now allow residents to bring their yard waste to the village organics yard at County House Road behind the Water Treatment Plant at 401 Neperan Road. Resident identification required

Thursday Collection Still Available

Tarrytown DPW will continue to provide curbside collection of yard waste up to six (6) bags per household. However, the village urges residents to take advantage of the drop-off option (no limit). Since the health crisis, DPW has experienced an increase in yard waste. Utilizing the drop off site will reduce the burden to the truncated Public Works Sanitation crews.

Disposal Guide

Leaves, grass clippings, brush and twigs must be placed in biodegradable paper bags (similar to curb-side collection). Drive into the site past the gates and present your resident identification. The attendant will direct you further. Be advised that the site may be muddy.

Hours of operation Monday thru Friday 8:00 a.m. to noon. Closed Wednesday

Please call Tarrytown DPW Office at 914-631-0356, before you wish to drop off.
