CONCERT SERIESSUMMER CONCERT SERIES IS BACK!

The Annual Summer Concert Series sponsored by the Village of Tarrytown on Thursday Nights from 7PM-9PM in Pierson Park will be returning this summer. If you’re new here, the stage is located at 240 West Main St (Pierson Park) – no tickets are necessary – it's free! The first concert is scheduled June 24th and is slated to run through August 19th.

In addition, we anticipate that Jazz Forum Arts will also be bringing back its own Friday Night Summer Concert Series (we anticipate a start of July 2nd. This series is also held in Pierson Park. The full schedule is yet to be released, but check out their website from time to time for updates.

TREE GIVEAWAY SATURDAY, JUNE 5

At this weekend’s TaSH Farmers Market, the Tarrytown Tree Commission will be distributing (for free) 100-200 tree saplings to plant. We are distributing the following trees: Colorado Blue Spruce, Serbian Spruce, Pin Oak, Red Maple. Giveaway is first-come, first-serve. Stop by the farmers market in Patriots Park starting at 8:30AM this Saturday to shop AND get a free tree!

DOG SHOWWESTMINSTER DOG SHOW IN TARRYTOWN JUNE 11-13

Tarrytown has been graced with the presence of the 2021 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. This illustrious event will be held on the grounds of Lyndhurst over the June 11-13 weekend. The dog show will not be open to spectators or vendors this year, but folks should anticipate increased levels of traffic in the vicinity of Lyndhurst as they gear up for the event starting this week. no leaf blower logoSEASONAL BAN ON GAS-POWERED LEAF AND GARDEN BLOWERS

A reminder to residents that this ban is in effect from June 15 through September 15 each year.

Persons who own or rent a one to three family home, who use these devices at the home where they reside, are exempt from this provision.  However, be aware that if you employ a green industry contractor, the ban does apply to them. Electric leaf blowers can be used year-round (as long as you comply with the noise ordinance!)

BOARD OF TRUSTEES ROUND-UP

A special work session and special BOT meeting have been scheduled for June 9 and June 14 respectively. There are some time sensitive items that need to be addressed in an expedited manner, namely: Parklets, setting a CDBG Public Hearing, Insurance Renewals and H-Bridge Bid Approval. The Regular BOT Work Session is scheduled for June 16 and the regular BOT meeting is scheduled for June 21.

QUICK FIRE NEWS

  • Pierson Park Stage is undergoing some minor renovations – anticipate construction like conditions starting June 1st running through June 15th (fingers crossed!)
  • The Village has excess cloth masks and excess personal sized hand sanitizer spray for residents and business owners (Free!). Please submit requests to Assistant Village Administrator jringel@tarrytowngov.com
  • The West Washington parking lot (behind the main street firehouse) is being used by construction contractors during weekday working hours for parking. The lot will only be available for public parking from 6PM – 7:30 AM Monday – Friday and all day on the weekends. Signage will be posted.
  • The Town of Greenburgh Tax Assessment Grievance process is now open; file between June 1 and June 15.  This is when an owner must submit the grievance form RP-524, which is available on the Greenburgh Town Assessor’s web page (Challenging Your Assessment).
  • All types of wildlife can be found at the Tarrytown lakes; if you capture anything fun, or see anything unusual, please submit to parks@tarrytowngov.com.  If its REALLY unusual, or REALLY unsafe (like an alligator) please call Tarrytown PD at 914-631-5546
  • NYS Rental Assistance Programs open June 1st
  • Village Taxes are due June 30th. 
  • A reminder that Route 9 will be repaved this Summer
