Tarrytown Link 6.24.2021 - COVID-19 Restrictions Lifted, July 4th and Concerts (woohoo!), and More...

The Tarrytown Link - "Linking You to Your Village"

We apologize that this one is a bit longer, but we waited until after a board meeting to provide an update… next “Link” will come out in late July as we move into summer.

COVID-19 Restrictions & Emergency Lifted

In case you missed it (ICYMI), Governor Cuomo announced that almost all COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted. He also announced that the State Disaster Emergency ended on June 24th.

July 4th is Back! (The Long Wait is Over!)

The Village of Tarrytown/Village of Sleepy Hollow July 4th fireworks return this year! The fireworks will be held on July 4th and are scheduled to begin between 9pm-915pm. We invite residents to view the fireworks from Pierson Park.

If you plan on attending the fireworks, we highly suggest that you arrive prior to 6:30pm-7:00pm as the parking frequently fills up and once that happens, Tarrytown Police close the H-Bridge to vehicular traffic (either in or out), so once you’re there, you are committed until the fireworks end.

Concerts Return (Plus Bonus Concert Friday, June 25th)

Village of Tarrytown Summer Concert Series returns TODAY Thursday June 24th 7pm – 9pm. Tonight’s concert is “The Grateful B.R.O’s”, a blues / dead band. Just a reminder – smoking of any kind (vaping, tobacco, cannabis) is not permitted in public parks. Thursday night concerts will continue throughout the summer, with the final concert scheduled for August 19th.

The School of Rock from White Plains will also be putting on a free bonus concert Friday June 25h from 7pm-830pm in Pierson Park.

Jazz Forum Arts Summer Concerts Series resumes in Pierson Park Friday July 9th. These concerts run from 630pm-830pm on Summer Fridays. More information can be found on their website.

Tarrytown is a beautiful community abound with wildlife. There are tons of baby ducklings, turtles, and fawn around this time of year. Don't become a statistic - Take care when you are driving around the Village, especially the Tarrytown lakes. Please, slow down a bit and beeeeeee careful (get it?)

parking permit holders onlyREMINDER: Parking Permits On-Sale / Renewal Time

Is your office re-opening? Are you looking to commute back to NYC several days a week? Well parking permits are available for the 2021-2022 parking season. Now you wonder, is it really time to get a permit? Here’s the (resident) calculation you might need… Consider this - if you park and pay the meter just once a week for the entire year, it could cost you $700+ or more. A Village of Tarrytown annual resident permit costs $450 a year.

We are happy to introduce a new parking permit option for residents of the center Village downtown business district. This permit allows residents to park in several of the downtown parking lots without feeding the meter. This permit is only eligible for the downtown lots. If a downtown resident wants to be able to park downtown AND at the train station, you still must purchase a resident commuter parking permit.

We also are happy to introduce motorcycle/scooter parking permits for commuters. We have a motorcycle/scooter parking area only, which is located in Lot A. These permits are $150.

All parking permits are due for renewal at this time (except for on-street permits and recreation permits which run on a calendar year) so please, do not delay and renew today!

Permit applications (fees for permits are on the application) can be found here: https://www.tarrytowngov.com/village-parking/pages/parking-permit-applications
