School Crossing Safety Tips

In an effort to prevent students from becoming victims of pedestrian / motor vehicle accidents, the Tarrytown Police Department strongly urges your child to follow these safety tips:

• Use due caution and do not assume a vehicle will stop
• Remain at least five feet away from the curb while waiting to cross
• Do not cross until verbally advised by the police officer / school guard
• Once directed to cross by the police officer / crossing guard, remain within the marked crosswalks
• Pay attention while crossing the street
