Commuter Parking / Train Station Parking

A permit does not guarantee you a space. 

RESIDENT PERMITS

For parking purposes, a Village of Tarrytown Resident is defined as someone who pays taxes to the Village of Tarrytown.  Resident Commuter Parking Permits may be purchased online through the Village website or at the Treasurer’s Office in Village Hall.  Residents may purchase an annual or semi-annual Resident Commuter Permit.  Resident Commuter Permits are valid in train station parking Lots A, C, D, F and G, metered spaces on Cortlandt Street/lower Main Street, as well as Lots #1 – #5 downtown.  Resident Downtown Permits are only valid in Lots #1 – #5 downtown.  Residents may purchase an annual Downtown Resident Permit; semi-annual Resident Downtown Permits are not available.  Resident Commuter and Resident Downtown Permits can include a second vehicle at no additional charge as long as registrations for both vehicles are provided at the time the permit is issued.  Regulations governing the use of each parking lot are noted in their respective descriptions.  The price of permits may be prorated relative to the expiration date of the permit.  Annual permits are valid from June 1 through May 31; semi-annual permits are valid from June 1 through November 30, or December 1 through May 31.

NON-RESIDENT PERMITS

Non-resident Commuter Permits may be purchased online through the Village website or at the Treasurer’s Office in Village Hall.  Non-residents may purchase an annual Non-resident Commuter Permit.  Non-resident Commuter Permits are valid for Lots C, D, F and G and metered spaces on Cortlandt St./lower Main St. in the vicinity of the train station.  Non-resident Commuter Permits cannot be used to park in the Resident Parking Lot (Lot A), the South Depot Parking Lot (Lot B), or the Recreation Parking Lot (Lot E).  Non-resident Commuter Permits can include a second vehicle at no additional charge as long as registrations for both vehicles are provided at the time the permit is issued.  Regulations governing the use of each parking lot are noted in their respective descriptions.  The price of permits may be prorated relative to the expiration date of the permit.  Annual permits are valid from June 1 through May 31.

MOTORCYCLE/SCOOTER PERMITS

Motorcycle Parking Permits may be purchased online through the Village website or at the Treasurer’s Office in Village Hall.  Motorcycle/Scooter parking permits are available to residents and non-residents and allow the holder to park in the designated motorcycle area in Lot A (the area closest to the train station/Depot Plaza.)

TRAIN STATION PARKING AREAS     Parking Map

Lot A – Resident Parking Lot.  This parking lot is located to the left of Village Hall when facing the building.  Parking available for Resident Permit holders only between 6:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.  Parking available for Recreation Permit holders or payment at Pay Stations after 2:00 p.m.  Overnight parking not permitted from December 1 through March 31.

Lot B – South Depot Plaza Lot.  This parking lot is located on the east side of the railroad tracks just south of the railroad station.  This parking lot is available to both residents and non-residents, but this is a payment only parking lot.  Parking permits are not honored in this parking lot, with the exception of permit holders with a handicapped parking permit who are parking in a handicapped parking space.

Lot C – Green Street North Parking Lot.  This parking lot is located north of the tennis courts.  Parking available for Resident Permit holders, Non-resident Permit holders, residents with daily commuter permits, and payment at Pay Stations between 6:00 a.m. and 11:59 p.m.  Parking available after 2:00 p.m. for Recreation Permit holders.  Overnight parking not permitted from December 1 through March 31.

Lot D – West Main Street Parking Lot.  This parking lot is located on W. Main Street between Lots C and E.  Parking available for Resident Permit holders, Non-resident Permit holders, residents with daily commuter permits, and payment at Pay Stations between 6:00 a.m. and 11:59 p.m.  Parking available after 2:00 p.m. for Recreation Permit holders.  Overnight parking is permitted year round.

Lot F – Green Street South Parking Lot.  This parking lot is located between the Tarrytown Boat Club and Losee Park.  Parking available for Resident Permit holders, Non-resident Permit holders, residents with daily commuter permits, and payment at Pay Stations between 6:00 a.m. and 11:59 p.m.  Parking available after 2:00 p.m. for Recreation Permit holders.  Overnight parking not permitted from December 1 through March 31.

Lot G – Losee Park Parking Lot.  This parking area is located south of Losee Park and along the fence line on Green Street.  Parking available for Resident Permit holders, Non-resident Permit holders, residents with daily commuter permits, and payment at Pay Stations between 6:00 a.m. and 11:59 p.m.  There is a 3 hour limit for Recreation Permit holders before 2:00 p.m., and no time restriction after 2:00p.m.

Cortlandt Street & lower Main Street – Long-term commuter parking (85 metered parking spaces).  Resident Permit holders and Non-resident Permit holders may utilize these spaces to a maximum 12-hour limit.  Please note that parking spaces 4103-4108 are 2-hour meters only.  Business Parking Permits may be utilized on Cortlandt Street at spaces 4050-4061.

Train station parking costs $1.75 per hour, up to a maximum of $14.00 per day.  Pay Stations accept cash, credit and debit cards; they do not give change.  You may obtain more than 8 hours at the machine, but you must indicate the time you intend to return when completing your transaction at the machine.  Pay Stations do not provide time beyond 11:59 p.m.

The PayByPhone parking app can be used instead of Pay Stations or meters.

Tarrytown residents may purchase daily commuter permits for $10 per day at the Police Dept. to park on the west side of the railroad tracks in Lots C, D, F or G.  Daily commuter permits are only valid in Lot A after 2:00 p.m., and must be purchased on the day they are to be used.
