Village Parking

There are a number of parking lots available in the downtown business district and at the Metro North Railroad station.  Those locations and information relating to the specific parking location is included below.  Information is also available regarding various parking permits to residents and non-residents.

DOWNTOWN BUSINESS DISTRICT PARKING

Parking meter rates are 25 cents for 20 minutes.

All meters accept nickels (4 minutes), dimes (8 minutes) and quarters (20 minutes)

There are 324 on street parking meters throughout the downtown business district.

South Broadway Parking Lot (31 South Broadway).  24 metered parking spaces; 18 with a maximum two-hour limit and 6 with a maximum six-hour limit.  Individuals with a Resident or Business Parking Permit may also utilize this lot to a maximum 12-hour limit.

McKeel Avenue Parking Lot.  65 metered parking spaces with a maximum 12-hour limit.  Individuals with a Resident or Business Parking Permit may utilize this lot to a maximum 12-hour limit.

South Washington Street Parking Lot (East).  78 metered parking spaces with a daily maximum 6-hour limit.  Individuals with a Resident Parking Permits may utilize this lot to a maximum 12-hour limit. 

South Washington Street Parking Lot (West).  25 metered parking spaces with a daily maximum 12-hour limit.  Individuals with a Resident Parking Permits may utilize this lot to a maximum 12-hour limit. 

West Elizabeth Street Parking Lot11 metered parking spaces having a daily maximum 2-hour limit.   Individuals with a Resident or Business Parking Permit may utilize this lot with a maximum 12-hour limit.

TRAIN STATION PARKING

RESIDENTS

Resident Parking Lot (Lot A).  Parking available for Resident Permit holders only between 6:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.  Parking available after 2:00 p.m. for Resident Permit holders, residents with daily commuter permits (available at Police Department), Tarrytown Recreation Permits and payment at the pay station machines.  Overnight parking not permitted from December 1 through March 31.     

West Main Street Parking Lot (Lot D).  Parking available for Resident Permit holders and residents with daily commuter permits between 6:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.  Parking available after 2:00 p.m. for Resident Permit holders, residents with daily commuter permits, Tarrytown Recreation Permits and payment at the pay station machines.  Overnight parking not permitted from December 1 through March 31.       

Green Street South Parking Lot (Lot F).  This parking lot is located between the Tarrytown Boat Club and Losee Park.  Parking available for Resident Permit holders and residents with daily commuter permits between 6:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.  Parking available after 2:00 p.m. for Resident Permit holders, residents with daily commuter permits, Tarrytown Recreation Permits and payment at the pay station machines.  Overnight parking not permitted from December 1 through March 31.    

Green Street North Parking Lot (Lot C).  This parking lot is located north of the tennis courts.  Parking available for Resident Permit holders and residents with daily commuter permits between 6:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.  Parking available after 2:00 p.m. for Resident Permit holders, residents with daily commuter permits, Tarrytown Recreation Permits and payment at the pay station machines.  Overnight parking not permitted from December 1 through March 31.    

Losee Park Parking Lot and Green Street along fence line of Losee Park (Lot G).  This parking lot is located south of Losee Park and along the fence line of Losee Park on Green Street.  Parking available for Resident Permit holders residents with daily commuter permits and Tarrytown Recreation Permit holders (3 hour limit) between 6:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.  Parking available after 2:00 p.m. for Resident Permit holders, residents with daily commuter permits, Tarrytown Recreation Permits (no time restriction) and payment at the pay station machines.

Resident daily commuter parking permits may be purchased at the Police Department for $5.00.  The pay station machines are $1.50 per hour, up to a maximum of $12.00 per day.  You may obtain more than 8 hours at the machine, but you must indicate the time you intend to return when completing your transaction at the machine.  The pay station will not provide you time beyond 11:59 p.m.

NON-RESIDENTS 

West Main Street Parking Lot (Lot D).  Parking available for Non-Resident Permit holders between 6:00 a.m. and 11:59 p.m.  Parking available after 2:00 p.m. for non-residents using pay station machines.  Overnight parking not permitted from December 1 through March 31.       

Green Street South Parking Lot (Lot F).  This parking lot is located between the Tarrytown Boat Club and Losee Park.  Parking available for Non-Resident Permit holders between 6:00 a.m. and 11:59 p.m.  Parking available after 2:00 p.m. for non-residents using pay station machines.  Overnight parking not permitted from December 1 through March 31.

OTHER RAILROAD STATION PARKING

South Depot Plaza Lot (Lot B).  This parking lot is located on the east side of the railroad tracks just south of the railroad station.  This parking lot is available to both residents and non-residents, but this is a payment only parking lot.  Parking permits will not be honored in this parking lot, with the exception of permit holders with a handicapped parking permit who are parking in a handicapped parking space.

Long Term Parking Meters on Cortlandt Street and Lower Main Street.  These on-street parking spaces are available to both residents and non-residents, but payment must be made at either the meters or at a pay station machine. 

The pay station machines are $1.50 per hour, up to a maximum of $12.00 per day.  You may obtain more than 8 hours at the machine, but you must indicate the time you intend to return when completing your transaction at the machine.  The pay station will not provide you time beyond 11:59 p.m.

VACATION PARKING

Residents may purchase a vacation parking permit to park their car in the McKeel Avenue parking lot up to a maximum of 14 days.  There are only 4 parking spaces available for this purpose and the permits are issued on a first come, first served basis.

PARKING PERMITS

RESIDENTS

Parking permits may be purchased at the Village Treasurer’s Office in Village Hall.  Residents may purchase a parking permit that is valid in all Village parking lots.  Regulations governing the use of each parking lot are noted above.  The cost of an annual parking permit is $410.  Semi-annual permits may also be purchased for $300 per 6 months, prorated for periods less than 6 months.  Annual permits are valid from June 1 through May 31.  Semi-annual permits are valid from June 1 through November 30 and December 1 through May 31.

Residents may also obtain a TARRYTOWN RECREATION PERMIT at the Village Treasurer’s Office.  There is no cost for this permit.  This permit allows parking along the Losee Park fence line on Green Street and in the Losee Park parking lot (south of Losee Park between the park and Washington Irving Boat Club) without putting money in the pay station machines for a maximum of 3 hours between 6:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.   Parking is available using the Recreation Permit in all parking lots around the train station, with the exception of the South Depot  Parking Lot, also noted as Lot B (east side of railroad tracks south of railroad station) with no time restriction between 2:00 p.m. and 11:59 p.m. Monday thru Friday.  The permit must be affixed to the lower corner driver's side rear window.  Permit does not guarantee you a space.  Permit must be removed from vehicle when vehicle changes ownership.

NON-RESIDENTS 

Commuter parking permits may be purchased at the Village Treasurer’s Office in Village Hall.  Non-residents may purchase a parking permit that is valid in the vicinity of the train station, with the exception of the Resident Parking Lot (Lot A) and the South Depot Parking Lot (Lot B).  Regulations governing the use of each parking lot are noted above.  The cost of an annual parking permit is $1,225.  Semi-annual permits may also be purchased for $795 per 6 months, prorated for periods less than 6 months.  Annual permits are valid from June 1 through May 31.  Semi-annual permits are valid from June 1 through November 30 and December 1 through May 31.
