Board of Trustees Meeting Date Change

The date for the next Board of Trustees meeting has changed from Monday, February 5, 2024 at 7pm to Tuesday, February 6, at 6pm. The change is required to ensure the presence of a quorum.

There are two public hearings scheduled for the next Board meeting regarding changes to the tax code. One proposed local law would reduce the number of years of active service required for volunteer emergency responders to receive a tax benefit and considers allowing the exemption for the un-remarried spouse in the case of death of the volunteer according to certain criteria. The second proposed local law brings the property tax exemption for seniors into conformity with the federal standards of what constitutes taxable income. To ensure adequate time for public feedback, in addition to holding the hearings at the February 6th meeting, both hearings will be continued to the following meeting to be held on February 20th at 6pm.
