Chief's Message

Welcome to the official website of the Village of Tarrytown Police Department. The Department is staffed by 34 sworn officers, 4 full-time civilians and 2 part-time civilians. It is our goal to provide top quality policing to our residents, business owners and visitors. It is our objective to address every concern brought to the Department’s attention to the very best of our capabilities. Our success is due to both the commitment of our employees and to the support they receive from the community.

The Village of Tarrytown is comprised of approximately 11,500 residents. It is located 25 miles north of midtown Manhattan on the eastern bank of the Hudson River. The Village has a robust downtown area and is host to a major Metro North Railroad stop. Major roadways such as the Saw Mill River Parkway, Interstate 287, Route 9 and the Governor Mario Cuomo Bridge are all easily accessible from the Village.

On December 7, 2023 the Department received New York State Law Enforcement Accreditation status for the first time in the Department’s history.
