On September 28 at 7PM, Wade Beltramo, General Counsel for the New York Conference of Mayors will be on hand (virtually) to provide a 15-20 minute overview of the changes in Cannabis (Marijuana) laws in NYS. Specifically, during the meeting, either Wade or the Village will cover the following that impact local governments:

  • Where marijuana can be smoked now and how it can be regulated in public
  • Options of Municipality to Opt In or Out of Sales and on-site consumption bars
  • Deadlines for which opt out decision must be made
  • Sales Tax revenue implications for village
  • If we opt-in, how zoning might work in that context
  • How the state is going to regulate marijuana dispensaries and on-site consumption sites
  • What a dispensary actually looks like
  • Other Marijuana Related Topics

There will be an opportunity for the public to make general comment concerning the above issues.
